BFBS Radio joins popular UK radio stations, including Capital Radio, XFM, Classic FM to launch on Freesat, the free-to-air digital satellite TV and Radio service!

 

Charles Foster, BFBS Radio Controller said: "Our arrival on Freesat Channel 786 on August 1st has the potential to increase significantly the number of homes where our service can be heard, allowing better connectivity between our forces serving overseas, especially in operational areas such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and families and friends at home."  More info

Help raise money with the BFBS Big Salute

It's the brand new BFBS Forces Fundraiser!

For many years, BFBS Radio has supported Wireless for the Blind (WFTB).  In December 2007 we decided to support our own British Forces community from 2008 onwards.  So that's where the Big Salute came in...

 

BFBS Forces Radio - what we do

Well, in a nutshell we broadcast to British Armed Forces around the world, wherever they are based. We broadcast three different channels:

BFBS Radio plays pop and rock. This is our contemporary hit radio channel, targeted at the British Forces community. We play the hits before they happen, we keep people in touch with their friends and family, and our news teams keep the audience informed with things they need to know. More info.

BFBS Radio 2 plays 'oldies', alongside melodic new songs. But it also offers in-depth news, sport and information on a local and global scale. If you like Premiership football from Five Live we've got it.  If you like incisive news, BFBS Radio 2 relays Today from BBC Radio 4. And BFBS Radio 2 binds it all together with our own experienced presenters, covering stories that matter to the British Forces around the world. More info.

BFBS Gurkha Radio provides a mixture of Nepali and English language programming for Gurkha soldiers in Brunei, Bosnia, Nepal and their UK bases.
